I'm running on Linux Mint 13 and installed Netflix Desktop. I can navigate Netflix ok, but when I try to watch a movie it crashes and says 'The program plugin-container.exe has encountered a serious problem and needs to close. Every few minutes my computer has an error: plugin-container.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. What does this mean and how do I fix it? This thread is locked.
Overview of Plugin-container.exe
What Is Plugin-container.exe?
Plugin-container.exe is a type of EXE file associated with Firefox developed by Mozilla Foundation for the Windows Operating System. The latest known version of Plugin-container.exe is 27, which was produced for Windows. This EXE file carries a popularity rating of 3 stars and a security rating of 'UNKNOWN'.
What Are EXE Files?
EXE ('executable') files, such as plugin-container.exe, are files that contain step-by-step instructions that a computer follows to carry out a function. When you 'double-click' an EXE file, your computer automatically executes these instructions designed by a software developer (eg. Mozilla Foundation) to run a program (eg. Firefox) on your PC.
Every software application on your PC uses an executable file - your web browser, word processor, spreadsheet program, etc. - making it one of the most useful kinds of files in the Windows operating system. Without executable files like plugin-container.exe, you wouldn't be able to use any programs on your PC.
Why Do I Have EXE Errors?
Because of their usefulness and ubiquity, EXE files are commonly used as a method of delivery for virus / malware infection. Often, viruses will be disguised as a benign EXE file (such as plugin-container.exe) and distributed through SPAM email or malicious websites, which can then infect your computer when executed (eg. when you double-click the EXE file).
In addition, viruses can infect, replace, or corrupt existing EXE files, which can then lead to error messages when Firefox or related programs are executed. Thus, any executable files that you download to your PC should be scanned for viruses before opening - even if you think it is from a reputable source.
When Do EXE Errors Occur?
EXE errors, such as those associated with plugin-container.exe, most often occur during computer startup, program startup, or while trying to use a specific function in your program (eg. printing).

Common Plugin-container.exe Error Messages
The most common plugin-container.exe errors that can appear on a Windows-based computer are:
- 'Plugin-container.exe Application Error.'
- 'Plugin-container.exe is not a valid Win32 application.'
- 'Plugin-container.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.'
- 'Cannot find plugin-container.exe.'
- 'Plugin-container.exe not found.'
- 'Error starting program: plugin-container.exe.'
- 'Plugin-container.exe is not running.'
- 'Plugin-container.exe failed.'
- 'Faulting Application Path: plugin-container.exe.'
These EXE error messages can appear during program installation, while a plugin-container.exe-related software program (eg. Firefox) is running, during Windows startup or shutdown, or even during the installation of the Windows operating system. Keeping track of when and where your plugin-container.exe error occurs is a critical piece of information in troubleshooting the problem.

Whenever ePSXe tries to initialize OpenGL to run a game, I get the error listed in the topic of this thread. I have tried many GPUs and all have the exact same problem. Granted, the Software plugin does run games just fine, but I wanted to look for a solution that allowed me to run OpenGL for the games.
There's a possibility that it might be linked to my GFX Card's latest drivers or the SP level of my windows version. The reason I say this is because the GPU plugin I use worked perfectly when I first upgraded to Windows XP-SP1. I also had a set of gfx drivers that were loaded from the CD that came with the Video Card I have. At some point inbetween then and now, upgrading to Service Pack 2 for Win-XP Professional and Upgrading to the latest available GFX drivers for my Video Card, I somehow lost ePSXe's ability to run games out of OpenGL.
Below are the plugins lists:

Once again, thank you for viewing & helping me with this problem. I am also going to post at Petes' forums about the GPU issue.
Thanks again.
