The birds are singing and the trees are in full-bloom! And for my family, especially my teen boys, it means fun and sun! It is hard to believe that they are 16 and 14 now, where did the time go?
But, just because they are getting older doesn’t mean we still can’t have fun together during the summer. And you can too, with just a little bit of planning.
For my boys, it is all about the quality time, and I can help you plan some great activities that will bring you and your teen boys closer together.

- Cool DIY Crafts for Teen Boys 1. Ship in a Bottle. This project is an old one, but there is a reason you still see these around. Learn how to make a ship in a bottle and also end up with a collectible masterpiece and a craft you can be proud of.
So what can you do to have some summer fun with your teen boys? Here are just a few simple suggestions that will bring you hours of fun and spend quality time with your teens.
Summer Activities With Your Teen Boys:
- A day at the ballgame. We are really blessed in the fact that we have a minor league ballpark about 5 minutes from our house. Parking is cheap, food is reasonable, and the memories are amazing.
- A long walk on the beach. This is one of my favorite things to do with my youngest. When we go on our vacation to Wildwood each year, this is the way we start our day and we love it.
- A video game tournament. This is perfect for a hot summer day. Stay inside, stay cool, and have fun watching your kids beat the pants off of you!
- Board game elimination tournament. This is a favorite Sunday activity with our extended family. Pull out games long-forgotten and make a million memories.
- A nature walk. Perfect for catching up and learning something new.
- A day at the swimming pool. Our local pool offers free and discounted swims during the summer, and it is a lot of fun.
- Day trip to the zoo or aquarium. This was one of my favorite things to do. We went last year, and it was the highlight of our summer(other than our trip to Wildwood).
- An ice cream for dinner date. This is just a fun way to let everyone’s guard down, and give Mom a night off from cooking!

It is hard to believe that such simple activities can satisfy any teen. But believe me when I tell you, these summer activities with your teen boys will make a lifetime of memories. I never would have believed it, but my teenage sons will tell you how much fun we have doing all these activities.
As a side note, the ice cream for dinner date is a great way to have some one-on-one time with your teenage son. If you have several, well, then, have a special one for each young man. It is amazing the insights you will get when it is just the two of you and a big bowl of ice cream.
So these are just a few things you can do to spend some time doing summer activities with your teen boys. Cherish the time you have with your boys, because before you know it, they will be off becoming young men.
