Super Diablo v1.5 Jan 2 2015 Prefabs. Every prefix/suffix can be found in dungeon loot, many unique item changes and 3 superweapons exist for the classes.
A new recipe to the cube was added with the 2.4 update, which is augmenting ancient items.
The recipe is pretty clear, but I saw people ruining their items by adding wrong stats (intelligence on demon hunter etc.). Is it related to the gems' types?
For example, if I used Royal Emeralds, would I get dexterity (considering it is an armor piece)?

So basically what this recipe does is it makes your current ancient item better.
The legendary gems are the important component in this recipe; you receive +5 points to an attribute chosen by Flawless Royal gem (Amethyst for Vit, Ruby for Strength, Emerald for Dex, Topaz for Int, regardless of item type) for every rank of your legendary gem. So, a rank 50 legendary gem will give you an additional 250 to your main stat (chosen by normal gem type). You aren't able to augment twice to double the effect though, if you augment a second time it just overwrites the first augment.
The whole purpose of this is to just inch closer and closer to complete BiS.
Hope this helped.
DalliumThese augments are extremely important for endgame content. They are one of the keys to progressing into the upper greater rifts.
As the accepted answer states, you get +5 for every rank of the gem.
Lagaan full movie free online. The end result is a unique blue stat name on your item called 'Caldesann's Despair' (the name of the cube recipe for augmenting), as well as the rank and bonus to the stat.
So, for example, let's say you used a level 42 legendary gem with an emerald, the added blue stat would be:
+210 Dexterity (Caldesann's Despair Rank 42)
These are the correlations for gems to stats:
- ruby (red): strength,
- amethyst (purple): vitality,
- emerald (green): dexterity,
- topaz (yellow): intelligence
- diamond (white): not available
Having enough gems is important. You should be taking your off stat gems (as in, if you are a Demon Hunter and don't use Topaz) and using Convert Gem to get them to your main stat type.
- If you want to augment a weapon, the legendary gem you use must be at least rank 30.
- If you want to augment jewelry, the legendary gem you use must be at least rank 40.
- If you want to augment armor, the legendary gem you use must be at least rank 50.
This doesn't mean that you should use a 30, 40, or 50 rank gem though. This means that once you reach grift 30, you should absolutely augment your weapon if it is ancient, and then every 5-10 grifts re-augment it.
The same goes for jewelry and armor. By 60 you may be augmenting every several grift levels you earn, as each +5 or +10 is noticeable during progression.

They won't be allowed, this isn't an MMO. 3rd party programs are a big no-no.
Edit: Unless you mean out of game calculators and such.
So..why are addons a 'no-no' if it's something simple like WoW's Auctioneer? If I've already paid the money for the game, I should be allowed to tweak it how I want within reason. If I buy a car, I can add a multi-disc CD changer if I want. If I buy a McDonald's Big Mac, I can remove the pickles if I want. So since I bought a digital copy of Diablo 3, I should be allowed to add on something like Auctioneer if I want. It doesn't change the gameplay in the least, it just changes the way I interact with the auction house.

yes, it doesn't change the game in any way..until you start using the gold you've made to buy all the best gear in the game from Inferno while you're still on Normal. granted you likely wouldn't be able to use it yet..but then what's the point in playing the game at that point when all the hard work has been done for you? both through other people's work of finding the items and the work of the addon telling you what to buy and what to sell it at?
and then there's the possibility of people using such an addon for the real money auction house. 'hmm..how much real money should i make today?' yeah..cause that would be fair and fun..

I think he meant, exp. damage meters and such
If you want something for this game in particular..just suggest it to blizzard..and I dont mean 'make it so we can have macros and addons' what I mean is to suggest that blizz put something simular to gear swapping like it has in wow. There wont be any player made addons, just get over it..and if you try to circumvent that system I hope you get banned.
there are a lot of addons that are useful other than macros..how about a damn parser, i just can't believe these games haven't caught onto this by now, I want to know whose pulling there weight and I want to make it possible to know i'm putting out max dps. sure if they give us an integrated parser then yea, screw the addons but i don't see that happening any time soon for any game outside of things like addons.
