Ibm excel add in

Warning:

  • Select Data Transfer Excel Add-in: 6. If Data Transfer Excel Add-in is not listed, do the following: a) Select Add (see previous screen). B) Browse to the folder where you installed System i Access for Windows. C) Double-click the Shared folder. D) Double-click cwbtfcai.dll.
  • In System i Access for Windows V5R4M0 and below, IBM used the Excel Software Development Kit (SDK) to provide the transfer technology between Excel and IBM i machines. With IBM i Access 6.1/7.1, that technology has been updated to use Component Object Model (COM) technology instead of the SDK.

From the command prompt, run EXCEL /X and you will open Excel window as a new instance. The /X command switch forces the creation of a new instance. Right click on the Excel Tab in Windows taskbar keeping the ALT key pressed. And without releasing the ALT key, click on “Microsoft Excel 2013” option from the context menu. Excel will ask you if you require opening Excel as a new instance. You might press YES.

  • Before you can connect to an IBM DB2 database, you need the IBM DB2 Data Server Driver installed on your computer (minimum requirement is the IBM Data Server Driver Package (DS Driver)). Select the driver that matches your Power Query installation (32-bit or 64-bit).
