Have You Banged or Hit Your Head Really Hard Lately and Are Wondering If You Should Visit the ER?
Getting hit hard in the head isn’t pretty, and sometimes an ER visit is warranted.

- Hitscan is just the calculation determining whether or not your reticle intersects with the target. An unmodified hitscan weapon will apply whatever effect the gun does instantly, but you can add delays. As long as it makes that calculation on activation it's hitscan.

Sometimes it’s a no-brainer that a visit to the emergency room is in order after one hits or bangs their head, if the ensuing symptoms are beckoning for medical attention.
But what if the symptoms are more subtle and the hit on the head doesn’t seem that bad? I consulted with Dr. Ravish Patwardhan, MD, nationally-renowned neurosurgeon and founder of Comprehensive Neurosurgery Network LLC.
When to Go to the ER
If you get hit in the head and experience nausea, dizziness, confusion, and visual problems, get to the ER as soon as possible.
Even if one of these symptoms is blaring, such as nausea coupled with vomiting, get to a doctor right away.
What if the impact to the head was really, really hard, but there is no headache, dizziness, confusion or nausea?

Dr. Patwardhan: “Certain trauma centers have used, for example, the criterion of ‘was there loss or alteration of consciousness?’ to decide whether to get a CAT scan.
“However, this relies upon a person being fully lucid, with full memory of the trauma.

“Occasionally, especially in older people or even in others, I have had the occasional patient who ‘hit his head on the roof of the car, sliding into his car seat’ without any alteration of consciousness, but only a headache–found to have an intracranial bleed, or subdural hematoma.
What Does Hitscan Mean
“So, to be cautious, if there is a persistent headache, or alteration of consciousness, or just a concern otherwise, I would go ahead and get a CAT scan.”
What if the impact to the head wasn’t that hard, but a headache indeed follows, but with no nausea or other symptoms?
“As above, included in that answer.”
What if the only symptoms are headache and dizziness, but nothing else?
“As above, included in that answer.”
What if there are no symptoms at all, but a very notable blue and green “bump” has formed on the head or forehead?
“This is a ‘grey area’ – I would err on the side of caution, if the impact were severe enough.
“Yes, it’s rare something like a bleed inside the skull would be found — but in today’s legal liability climate, with even a rare possibility, many emergency room doctors would err on the side of caution.”
If after you hit your head, your only symptom is nausea, again, Dr. Patwardhan recommends an ER visit.
